Where I find my Inspiration

Where do you find your inspiration?

It’s a GREAT question.

I want to share a few of my favourite places I draw inspiration from…perhaps one of them will inspire you on your next event adventure.

Pinterest:

I am a Pinterest addict.  Before Pinterest I used to tear out pages from magazines when I would find something that piqued my interest or a new idea.  (Sidebar – I still do this). However, I find that Pinterest gives me a much cleaner way of organizing all of the things that inspire me.  Specifically I’ll point you in the direction of my ‘Entertaining Board’ where there are ideas for dinner parties to birthday parties, bridal showers, dessert tables and more!

Colours:

This year the colours I’m obsessed with are Teal, Copper and the Pantone colour of the year, Marsala. Do you notice you’re drawn to certain colours on a regular basis or perhaps year to year? Use this as a jumping off point for your next dinner party, cocktail party décor, gala or reception

Seasons:

One thing I love about living in Canada is we get to experience the 4 seasons (sometimes winter can seem a little long, but that’s a story for another day).  For me, each season brings about new colours to look at, new outdoor experiences and activities related to the season.  Use the seasons of the place you live or place you find beautiful to guide your event creation – use floral or foliage that is ‘in season;’ allow the food you choose to tell a story of that season; maybe you’re in need of a fully themed event full of activities – draw on what you have around you in the town or city you live in.

We’d love to hear what inspires you! You can share with us in the comments below.
